You have to get in a freighter and travel that entire distance before you can deploy your tower... The 100km distance is from the moon warp in point.

It's possible to give alliance mates access to modules on your POS. It doesn't work for people outside your corp or alliance though.

The guns can be placed outside the shield. I forgot the distance you can place them exactly, but I think you can put them up to 50km away from the tower. It might be advantageous to do this to prevent people from sniping your pos from long distanc...
